
The style chosen by Louis XVIII does not move away much from that of the Emperor. The most outstanding differences are curved lines and the disappearance of the imperial symbols. Furniture is of a darker tonality but the white, color of the bourbons, is employed. Clear wood is used more and more for the incrustations, in decors such as interlacings, flowers of lily, burl orme. The most representative pieces are the small pieces of furniture such as the tables (collapsible, with works, knitting machines...).
The Charles X style sees the return of Gothic decors. The incrustations are primarily made up of clear wood on dark wood (and conversely), in decorative floral volutes. Creations are the seat "Troubadour", the secretary-screen (provided with a plate which one vertically raises to access the writing stand). Springs replace stuffing in cushions
